Hull Savoyards and the Kingston Brass Quintet are to present *‘A Musical Christmas Carol’ – Humbug!’* written by Fraser Charlton (well known in Newcastle for his short shows written for the University and Gosforth Musical Society). ‘Humbug!’ is an adaption of Charles Dickens’ public readings of ‘*A Christmas Carol’* with the addition of various Gilbert & Sullivan songs and traditional Christmas Carols. The show includes a mixture of costumed and staged scenes with a concert style Victorian carol singers chorus.

The show contains minimal libretto guided along by a Narrator (Charles Dickins) reading sections of Dickins’ text used in his celebrated public readings.
